Bleeding Heart Art Space
Bleeding Heart has been curating creativity, connections, and conversations
around art, faith, hope and love since 2012. We host a volunteer-powered, admission-free gallery space that welcomes hundreds of guests each year to exhibitions, concerts, artist workshops, and community building events.
We believe art can speak to the spiritual nature of our humanity in a way that transcends religious borders. We welcome artists and visitors from all faith backgrounds (or none) to join us in exploring the intersection of contemporary art and faith. By establishing art space, sacred space and community space in North-Central Edmonton, we offer beauty and voice to neighbourhood residents, and work for social justice in our city.
Churches can be places of community and belonging, but can be places of exclusion, harm and conformity. We are a unique public gallery space that, while situated in a church building, actively works to bring in diverse worldviews, believing that this strengthens us as a community. Our 6 core values are to remain engaging, inclusive, redemptive, local, champions of artistic excellence, and awestruck.

We shine most brightly in community, the whole bedraggled, worn, frayed and tattered lot of us, bound together forever by a shared courage, a family forged in the heat of earnest struggle.
