Queer Belonging

Highlands - 11203-68 St. NW, Edmonton

Alberta Avenue - 11725-93 St. NW, Edmonton

Acknowledging that queer people have always existed within places of worship, we are a group that are finding different ways to belong while journeying through spirituality. This includes all expressions of faith, and even those who don't want to commit themselves to a fixed system of belief. This is safe environment where not only are questions welcomed, but they are encouraged.

In our first year, we proudly organized inclusive events like a Pride Month BBQ, concerts featuring queer musicians, and an end-of-year chosen family meal. These gatherings provided safe spaces for celebration, acknowledgment of diverse emotions, and a sense of belonging within the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

As we look ahead, we are excited about what the future holds and are committed to continuing our efforts in creating more meaningful experiences and fostering a stronger sense of unity and pride within our community.

We shine most brightly in community, the whole bedraggled, worn, frayed and tattered lot of us, bound together forever by a shared courage, a family forged in the heat of earnest struggle.
